Electorial Register -- compulsory now in the UK?

I had a knock at the door last night. I found on my doorstep a man who claimed he was an offical for collecting names for the Election Register, a list of people who can vote.

I said "No thank you."

I simply do not want to be on any govt list of names and addresses.

The odious official became quiet insistant that I had to fill in this form. Taking a guess that some were on the form it would have the relevant small print, and wanting to check the details I said

"Leave a copy in the letter box."

The official refused to do this, which makes me suspicious. Why would this be the case ? I can only assume that he wanted to ask me for ID to 'prevent vote fraud'.

Anyway, perhaps I will get some threatening letter next.

Any advice, knowledge or thoughts on the topic appreciated

I think we need to force the govt to remove these registries...they are against freedom.

I failed to get mine in time, They only Sent me a Reminder, I missed that too.

BUT NO! Officially for years, it has been general law that you take part in the Census. (population census) When was the last time I saw one of those? Perhaps we don't do them in Scotland.

As far as I know there is no mandatory Obligation to be on the Electoral register. Hence the struggle to get Brits to get out and vote at all. Ring up your local Electoral Register Office to ask about the law. Perhaps for immigrants of certain categories, with the new 'Citizenship' regulations existant again primarily in England, there is a suggestion that Voting is more than entirely voluntary.

This is your registration under the corporate "democracy", so that you can vote in the board of the for profit UK PLC. One would imagine that the registration allows government to apply new statutes (corporate policies) over you, just as registration of your child allows them to CPS them.

Remember, that registration, in legalese, is an OWNERSHIP TRANSFER. When you register with the state to play with your kids, you hand over your parental rights to the state. This is SOOO important, because, under NWO ethics, they have, by offering a registration, told you what they are doing. You can't understand legalese, but THEY DON'T CARE. So the dumbed down public hand over their kids, like the stupid child opens the door to the bogey man or, the mythical vampire to let them in. Any parent who uses these parks is OUT OF THEIR MIND, and quite honestly deserves to loose their kids, but, of course, the kids deserve NONE OF THIS.

Wake up people. Grow some balls. Look at wild animals and how they protect their kids from predators, TO THE DEATH.

However, prosecutions for those who refuse are few and far between.

Fact is, most UK cops don't go on the list, as they don't want nutjobs they dealt with in the past tracking them down.

Hardly any prison officers ever register, same reason.  So I would not worry about any threats the jobsworth makes.

Personal security seems a fair and sound reason, why go on this 'stalker's directory'?

Yes the electoral roll is a stalkers charter, if anyone does decide to prosecute me I will make it a point to check to see if the Judge has his address on the voting register.

Anyway, I do not expect to be prosecuted, but I did think that readers would be interested in our experience.

As to voting, of course I support the single issue party UKIP (Anti European Union), but I am just to far gone down the Rabbit Hole to see daylight anymore so I won't be back on the surface to vote.
