Dallas Gives Green Light To Surveillance Cameras

NBC | June 30 2006

DALLAS -- The Dallas City Council has given the green light to the installation of cameras at 30 locations downtown.

Dallas police said the cameras would watch pedestrians, tourists and club-goers who may not look out for themselves.

The Meadows Foundation donated the $700,000 it costs to operate the cameras.

The cameras should be up and running by the fall.
