Pakistan warns against US incursion

Pervez Musharraf has warned US forces that any unilateral action taken along Pakistan-Afghanistan border will be regarded as an invasion.

Speaking to foreign media, Pakistan's president said Islamabad would resist any attempt of the coalition forces to hunt down militants in the Pakistani-controlled regions, Geo news network reported.

Musharraf called US Democratic candidate Hilary Clinton's proposal to deploy US teams in Pakistan to safeguard its nuclear assets an 'intrusion of privacy'.

The president's remarks were in response to reports that Washington was considering increasing the authority of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the military to conduct covert operations in Pakistan.

Musharraf also added that he would resign if the next elected government sought his impeachment.
