Sarandon: U.S. Close to Orwell’s 1984

Kurt Nimmo | April 6 2006

Hurrah for Susan Sarandon, who has compared America, under the rule of the Machiavellian Straussian neocons, to a page out of George Orwell’s 1984. Sarandon believes the next election here in Pax Americana should be internationally monitored, lest it be stolen once again, not that it particularly matters—as we know, there is no difference between the Republican or Democrat variety of neocon and neoliberal, and monitoring by “international entities” who are in effect globalist controlled insiders would not make a lick of difference.

“We live in a society where individual rights and legality are definitely threatened and that’s scary,” Sarandon told New Zealand’s Scoop.

Indeed, it is scary, and one has to hand it to Susan Sarandon for using her celebrity to say so, but in essence her pertinent remarks are but another blip on the daily radar of the news cycle (the “mainstream” press did not bother to mention her 1984 commentary, although MSNBC covered her remarks on monitoring elections, as reported by the Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo).

Now if Susan would tell us she believes nine eleven was an inside job, we’d really be in business—at least for the duration of the latest and wholly ephemeral “entertainment news” cycle.
