More bombings, torture slayings in Baghdad

UPI | April 5 2006

Baghdad bombings killed at least 12 people Tuesday -- 10 when a car bomb exploded in a largely Shiite area and two when a blast leveled a house, a report said.

Ten people were killed and 28 were wounded in the blast in Sadr City neighborhood, which has seen a sharp rise in sectarian violence in the past six weeks, CNN reported.

Two children were killed in a later house blast in the New Baghdad area.

In addition, authorities said they had found the bodies of nine people in Baghdad, who had been shot and possibly tortured.

Eight of the bodies were found in the Sadr City neighborhood, the report said.
