Three more charged over alleged airline bomb plot

Vikram Dodd / London Guardian | August 30 2006

Scotland Yard's anti-terrorist branch last night charged a further three men with conspiracy to murder over the alleged plot to assemble and explode bombs on airliners flying to the US.

Nabeel Hussain, Mohammed Gulzar, and Mohammed Shamin Uddin were arrested earlier this month, and will all appear before City of Westminster magistrates today.

Police arrested 24 people three weeks ago and still hold five. Today detectives have to charge or release them, or seek court permission to question them for a fourth and final week.

A total of 14 people are now charged over the plot.
